Yes, it's true, I am under the weather again. Bloody flu. Running nose, sore throat. It hasn't changed one bit since childhood. Madam says that I call it upon myself. It is some kind of physiological manifestation of my state of self-pity, something like that. Anyway, I firmly believe it is a wandering bug that happened to hit my bloodstream, and my poor immune system couldn't beat it.
Well, I have my own personal remedy for it though...all is not lost that is! There is this herbal-extract tablet that I have, that kind-of boosts my immune system. Though it is crazy expensive, I love it. The very fact that I have ingested Rs 300 worth of tablets in a single day, for the common flu, makes me feel like superman who is standing on the chest of a whining villain! I don't know if it works, but my belief in it's abilities appear to be stronger than the medicine's own conviction in it's striking power! Well what the heck, I feel happy ingesting it, and that's that.
The teen and pre-teen were upto no good as usual. They have their summer holidays and have no visions beyond the television. Bambi is worse (my 6 year old daschund). She is the laziest thing on this planet. Sleeps the whole day, and whole night. Only eats and sleeps. A walk outside is the biggest torture she has to endure, and she'd gladly skip it, if given a chance. Due to overeating and lack of exercise, she is so plump now that her belly scrapes the floor as she shuffles from one slumber-point to the next.
Back to me now. I feel proud that I worked hard today despite my flu. The phone rang incessantly and the mails never stopped dropping in the Inbox. The Instant messenger had a life of it's own. Never a dull moment. Looking back, I feel good about the work-day. it was productive, and I guess that helped keep me on my feet. Otherwise, the flu would have overtaken me and I'd be sprawled with napkins and cough syrups around me, and would have felt really sick.
